The East of England region of The
Chartered Institute of Marketing has won a national award for its
event programme, which is run by branch volunteers for members and
marketers in Peter borough, Cambridge, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk.
At the International Chairs
Conference recently held at the Institute’s head office in
Berkshire, the East of England was recognised as having the best
events programme in terms of topics, speakers and promotional
materials.
Chair of the Peterborough group Bob
Hogg was delighted that the county had contributed to the region’s
success: “The judges said that ours was a ‘totally professional
programme with excellent topics and speakers and a high standard of
promotional material’ – which was excellent praise!
"They also
said that the scale of sponsorship was impressive, reflected
long-term efforts and that the region offered a variety of different
types of events so there was something for everyone. We’re very
proud of this!”
Jonathan Hart, regional director for
the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the East of England
recognises that the work of volunteers is producing and arranging
quality events was crucial.
“A great deal of hard work goes on
behind the scenes to put an events programme of this quality
together,” explains Jonathan.
“However without the support,
interest and feedback of the members and local marketers there would
be no programme so I would to thank everyone who develops their
careers and knowledge through event attendance and Continual
Professional Development.”
