Bobby makes a welcome return to The Cresset this Christmas in
the role of panto dame Nurse Glucose. After more than 30 years in
the entertainment business, Bobby is certain to be a favourite with
audiences. His career began back in the 1970s when he won the talent
show Opportunity Knocks. An all-round entertainer, Bobby is an
acclaimed pianist as well as a songwriter, actor and TV presenter.
He is joined by Oliver Farnsworth
as Simple Simon. Oliver is sure to set hearts a-flutter among
Hollyoaks fans. Oliver played Will Hackett in the C4 hit soap and is
famed for the plotline in which he pushed the evil Claire (played by
actress Gemma Bissix) off a balcony.
Accomplished actress Kim Taylforth
joins the cast as the Wicked Queen. Kim is a face known to many
thanks to her roles in TV prison drama Bad Girls and the Channel
Five soap Family Affairs. Former Metropolitan police officer Kim is
the sister of ex-EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth, who played
Kathy Beale in the soap.
Actress Ria Scott is set to capture
the hearts of the audience in her role as Snow White. Ria is already
a panto veteran and has also appeared in countless TV dramas,
including Judge John Deed, Casualty, Holby City and The Bill. But
she is best known as the lead singer of the Fast Food Rockers who
shot to fame in 2003 with the Fast Food Song, entering the UK music
charts at number 2. Other top 20 hits followed, and led to Ria
appearing on the BBC2 game show Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
Cresset managing director Julian
Stanley said: “The reaction to Premier’s first show at the Cresset
last year was simply incredible.
“Huge numbers of people wrote and
emailed to ask if we would bring Bobby Crush and Oliver Farnsworth
back again this year. At each performance they had the audience
eating out of their hands and falling about helpless with laughter
in the aisles! Such was the reaction they got from the people of
Peterborough that when asked to be here again this year they both
instantly said `Yes’! “With the talented Kim Taylforth and Ria Scott
joining the our cast, we are now all set for an action packed, high
quality and spectacular Christmas and New Year treat for the whole
family.”
