Meet best selling author Tess Gerritsen

Lifestyle | Article

Bestselling author Tess Gerritsen will be talking about her writing and her new novel The Bone Garden at Peterborough’s John Clare Theatre on Wednesday 16 January from 1 pm to 2 pm.

The Bone Garden, featuring medical examiner Maura Isles, tells how newly divorced Julia Hamill is digging in her back garden when she uncovers a human skull.

So begins a story that dates back to the 1830s, uncovering secrets that - even after over 100 years - prove more shocking than Julia can imagine.

Tess’s talk, which takes place at the John Clare Theatre, at Central Library, on Broadway, has been organised by Waterstone’s in partnership with Peterborough Libraries. Copies of her books will be available for purchase and signing.

Elaine Wilkinson, reader services advisor for Peterborough Libraries, said: "Tess Gerritsen's thrillers are extremely popular with Peterborough readers and we are delighted she's visiting the city.”

Anna Elmore, manager at Waterstone’s in Peterborough, added: “I am personally very excited by this visit as Tess Gerritsen is one of my favourite crime thriller authors. I’ve been fighting hard to get Peterborough some of the best authors available so I hope all her fans will take advantage of this unique opportunity as it’s so unusual for a top American crime author to visit anywhere other than the major cities in the UK.”

Tickets cost £3 (£2 concessions and reading group members) and are available in advance from Central Library or from Waterstone’s, on Bridge Street, or on the door on the night.

For more information, call reader services at Peterborough Libraries on 01733 742708 or Waterstone’s on 01733 555323.
