Peterborough Community Website - www.peterborough.net
- is
proud to announce it's sponsorship of the newly launched V8 Viento by Luego Sports Cars.
Luego are a hugely
successful local Kit Car manufacturer who recently relocated to
Peterborough and held the launch event for their new vehicle at
Rockingham Raceway on Friday 7 February 2003.
The Community Website, along with many other local businesses have put
their names to the Viento to give support to a business run by Mathew Wright and Grant
Lockhead, both of whom
are local and seen the benefits of moving into Peterborough.
Website Content Editor, Jenny Mogford said, "We're
delighted to be supporting a local business in this way, especially
one where there's so much enthusiasm and it's evident the team are
working at something they really love.
"We hope to help promote brand awareness
in the local
community."
Luego currently manufacture three
Kit Cars.
-
The original Locost from the
book by Ron Champion
-
The Velocity, which is designed
for a Pinto engine and their pride and joy
-
The Viento V8, a Lotus 7
inspired car based on the original Locost chassis. It is 12
inches longer, 6 inches wider and 4 inches higher than the
original, enabling it to happily house any V8 engine and a
driver as tall as 6ft 7 or 20 stone.
The V8 Viento made it's first
appearance as a proto-type at the National Kit Car Show in Stonleigh
in May 2002
Driver on the launch day was Mike
Swinnerton, Senior Racing Instructor at Silverstone Circuit. Mike
commented, "This car, with it's V8 power, is definitely going
to make a challenging and exciting care to drive. It required
respect, but the 'grin factor' is pretty substantial."
If you want to see the Viento, Luego
Sports Cars would welcome a visit from you, their door is always
open and you will receive a warm welcome.
